General Application Instruction

Thank you for purchasing DeckMAX™!  You will find that enhancing the aesthetics of your high-end deck using DeckMAX™ is a simple, quick and enjoyable process. There is no striping, sanding, messy stains or three to five days of not being able to use your deck as with wood decks. Please note that DeckMAX™ works best when deck board temperature on your deck is between 70 and 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

For Your Convenince - 64 oz. of DeckMAX™ will condition up to approximately 500 square feet.

1) Remove furniture, mats, plants, etc. from your deck.  Remember to keep everyone off of deck until completely dry as DeckMAX™ can be harmful to children and pets.

2) Remove any excess dirt, dust, pollen, chalk, grease, wax, mold, algae, mildew, etc. with a power washer or a mild cleaner and stiff bristle brush.  NOTE - For rust or hard to clean stains use a light-duty stainless steel wire brush.

3) If soap is used, rinse deck thoroughly. It is important that deck be thoroughly free of soap residue for optimal performance of DeckMAX™.

4) Allow deck to dry completely.  TIP - The deck must be completely dry for optimal performance of DeckMAX™ because moisture on the deck can cause a spotty effect. If this happens, simply ensure that area is completely dry and re-apply.

5) Pour DeckMAX™ into a metal or HDPE plastic wide mouth shallow container.

6) Wearing non-PVC coated chemical resistant gloves place white 100% cotton terry cloth or mop with terry cloth cover into container letting DeckMAX™ absorb into the cloth. Lightly shake excess to avoid drips and apply to the deck boards with even pressure in the direction of the grain, starting at the furthest corner and moving towards exit.  NOTE - Use caution when applying near other weathered surfaces as DeckMAX™ will bring back the faded color of vinyl, metal, stucco and painted wood. Use caution near driveways, pavers and concrete as DeckMAX™ will change the color of these surfaces. Do not use “plastic” rags, sponges or mops with glue as these may cause staining to your deck. We recommend testing in a small, inconspicuous area of your deck prior to application.

7) Depending on temperature and humidity your deck should be dry to the touch in approximately 30 minutes, however, allow two to three hours after application to replace furniture and resume normal use. Do not allow children or pets on deck until DeckMAX™ has dried completely.

8) Reapply as often as needed to maximize the beauty of your deck!
TIP - DeckMAX™ leaves no measurable residual product after the product dries. Unlike paint or stains which need to be striped prior to application, DeckMAX™ only requires a simple cleaning prior to application if your deck is dirty.
