How often should I apply DeckMAX Revitalizers to my deck? As often as you like to maintain your vinyl PVC decks' optimum beauty. Typically our customers use DeckMAX Revitalizers as their yearly seasonal cleaning and maintenance porcess. DeckMAX® Enhanced provides superior UV protection from the harsh weather conditions. Back to top What is cellular PVC or Vinyl decking and how is it different from Composite decking? Cellular PVC decking was formerly considered Composite decking. In most cases, PVC is a much higher end product than standard Composite decking. Composite decking now is made up mostly of cellulosic (wood dust) material and polypropylene or other recycled plastics. DeckMAX™Green was developed for PVC decking and will not bring back the color of faded polypropylene or other recycled plastics. Back to top How long does DeckMAX™ take to apply? The average 500 square foot deck should take approximately 1-2 hours once the surface is cleaned and dry. Our vinyl PVC/metal wipes make it easy and fast to restore your outdoor surfaces. Back to top How do I prepare to rejuvenate my deck with DeckMAX™ ? For vinyl PVC decks we recommed our DeckMAX Professional Grade Cleaner Concentrate which makes up to 6 gallons of powerful cleaner. For your wood or composite deck use our crystal formula cleaner (coming soon). With any cleaner ensure that you remove all cleaner residue before applying DeckMAX Products. DeckMAX Revitalizers should be applied to a clean and dry surface. Follow your deck manufacturer's cleaning specifications.
Back to top Do DeckMAX Revitalizers remove rust stains? Yes. Most rust stains can be removed. However, for hard to remove rust stains apply DeckMAX to loosen the rust, allow to penetrate for a few seconds and then gently brush with a light duty stainless steel brush. Back to top Do DeckMAX Enhanced or Green remove my stubborn suntan lotion/grease stains? Yes. However, any excessive grease buildup should be cleaned with your deck manufacturer's recommended degreaser or DeckMAX Professional Grade Cleaner Concentrate prior to applying DeckMAX Green to your vinyl PVC deck. Thoroughly rinse cleaner to make sure there is no cleaner residue. Back to top How long does DeckMAX™ take to dry? Depending on the air temperature and the humidity, DeckMAX™ should dry to the touch within minutes. However, allow at least 2 hours to replace furniture and walk on. Back to top What are the best weather conditions for applying DeckMAX™? DeckMAX™ Green works best when the board temperature on your deck is between 70 and 100 degrees Fahrenheit. During hot summer months we recommend applying DeckMAX™ in the morning or evening to avoid the hottest part of the day. Keep in mind that on a sunny day your boards may be 15-25 degrees hotter than the air temperature. For best results ensure 12 rain free hours after application. Back to top Do I need to protect areas adjoining my deck? DeckMAX will temporarily restore the color and luster of a variety of surfaces, therefore use caution while applying near surfaces such as siding, pavers, cements, railings, step risers, etc. Although drips and small amounts of DeckMAX will not harm plant life, large spills will damage/kill plants or grass. Therefore, we recommend covering any ornamental plants, lawn furniture, fish ponds, etc. Keep children and pets off of deck while it is still wet. For complete application instructions watch our How To video. Back to top What do I do if DeckMAX spills on another surface other than my vinyl PVC deck? Wipe up as much possible immediately and let evaperate. DeckMAX will temporarily restore the color of non vinyl PVC surfaces such as concret, masonry, wood, driveways, siding, etc. Back to top Will DeckMAX damage my grass or landscaping? Although, small drips or sprays should not damage grass or landscaping, large spills on plants and/or grass could result in damage. We recommend covering any ornamental plants, lawn furniture, fish ponds, etc. and keeping children and pets off of deck while it is still wet. Back to top Why does my deck look spotty/streaky after application? Moisture on the deck can cause a spotty/streaky effect. Allow deck to dry completely and simply reapply DeckMAX. Back to top Will DeckMAX Green take out scuff marks from shoes or rubber? Yes. Back to top Why did my deck fade? All decking products, natural and manmade will experience weathering. Contributing factors to weathering include the environment, moisture, sunlight, heat, time and other variables which may vary by region or geography. Normal weathering is an aesthetic issue and not a performance or product warranty issue, nor considered a material defect. Back to top Should I use eye and hand protection while using DeckMAX products? Yes. As with many other common household cleaners, it is good practice to use non PVC coated rubber gloves and eye protection for your safety. Back to top of Categories |
